Your Complete Guide to the 2011 Online Auction

In conjunction with Nueva’s Light, Camera, Auction event on April 9 we are once again running an Online Auction through Bidding For Good. Whether or not you attend the event on April 9, the Online Auction is great way for you and your friends and families to bid on an amazing selection of over 100 packages from parties and getaways to video games and sports tickets. You don’t have to get dressed up and “red carpet ready” to support Nueva and score some great deals. The Online Auction opens for bidding on Sunday, March 27, at 6:00 pm and closes on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 pm. You can register now and preview certain items by visiting the Nueva Auction homepage at http://nuevaschool.org/auction. Here are some important facts you should know to help make your Online Auction experience easy and fun:

How do I register?
Go to the Nueva Auction homepage and click on the “Bid Online/Preview Items” link. This will take you to the specific Nueva 2011 Online Auction homepage at Bidding for Good. Click on the “Register NOW to Bid Online” button. If you registered to bid last year, your user name and password are stored and will work. In that case look for the “Sign In” button near the top of the page. Here are some registration tips from Bidding for Good:

1) Keep in mind that we will have over 200 bidders so a unique user name is a must!

2) Both the user name and password are case sensitive.

3) The password must have letters and numbers.

4) Make sure that when you put in the security code at the end, that you are putting a space between the two words. The code is case sensitive.

5) Make sure you agree to the terms of use.

6) Make sure that you click Register with your mouse and the end and don't hit the Enter key.

7) If all of that still doesn't work, call the Bidding for Good help center 866 621 0394.

When can I start bidding?
Until the Online Auction opens, the items you see are for preview. Once the Online Auction opens at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 27, you can login and bid as often as you like on all Online packages until closing time on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 pm.

Online, Silent, Live – What’s the Difference?
We are very fortunate to have so many different packages available for all parts of the Nueva Benefit Auction. Online packages are only available through the Online Auction. They will appear only on the Online website. Some packages will be added AFTER the Online Auction opens, so you should check back often to see new items and keep bidding. Silent Auction packages will only be available at the event on April 9th. The Silent Auction takes place at the cocktail reception from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. Live Auction packages will be auctioned off live during the dinner on April 9th between 7:30 and 10:00 pm. The Silent and Live Auction packages will appear on the Online Auction website for you to preview. All Nueva families will also receive a print catalog with a listing of the Silent and Live Auction packages.

What is a “Count-Me-In” Party?
The auction committee and many generous donors have come up with a very exciting array of parties and events to choose from. With everything from pole dancing to pottery painting there is surely something to please almost anyone and any budget. Many of these experiences are open to a specific number of people and individual spots will be offered for a set price, hence the name “count-me-in.” All of these experiences will be available on the Online Auction. Rather than bidding, you just select the item and choose the “buy-it-now” option to immediately purchase your spot at the listed price. These are going to be popular items, so make sure to check your calendars and go to the Online Auction early. Any unsold spots will be made available at the Silent Auction.

How do I know if I win something from the Online Auction and how do I pay?
After the auction closes, you will be notified at the e-mail address you provide upon registration if you have won any items. The first time you place a bid, you will be asked to give a valid credit card number. This will be the default method of payment, and that credit card will be charged for any items you win at the close of the online auction. At any time you can change the credit card information by logging in to the Online Auction and choosing the “My Account” link near the top right corner. Lori McGilpin and the Nueva Auction team will arrange delivery of your items either at the event on April 9 or immediately after.
