Fourth Grade Class Gift - Glass Labyrinth Art Piece
A man, a Minotaur, a legend. Inspired by the epic myth of Theseus, this year Nueva's fourth grade students were tasked to create a glass labyrinth as an entire class. Blending SEL skills with new techniques acquired at the Public Glass Factory, students cut, designed, and worked to piece together colorful glass fragments to form their individual tiles. These tiles were then put together and melted to form a labyrinth. A priceless, one-of-a-kind beautiful piece to hang in your house to remind you of the trials of Theseus and how you too, can outsmart the monsters in your life.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip to Cuba with Nueva Scholars
Two years ago, when we first offered the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our Upper School students to visit Cuba, we know you were thrilled for them. We also know what you were thinking: when can we go? Well this year, for the very first time, Nueva parents have the chance to embrace their own, unforgettable journey into Cuba! In February of 2020 (during Nueva's February break), 12 lucky winners will have the chance to see Cuba as few ever have. For over 50 years, Cuba has severely restricted access to outsiders, but thanks to new opportunities -- and the insider knowledge that Nueva Spanish teacher Jo Newman and Dean of Student Life Hillary Freeman (both of whom have previously led this trip for Nueva students) bring to the table -- this trip will allow you to see Cuba in a whole new light. Any visit to this historically and culturally rich island has the potential to be unforgettable, but rarely do such trips offer the chance to go off the beaten path. Those lucky enough to join us on this adventure will be able to:
