Mystère: 12th Annual Nueva Poker Party!
Saturday, October 24, is coming, and the vibe is “Mystère"—dark, haunted, and hexed. Whether you’re a bewitching maestro or a beguiling con, bring your best game to the 12th annual Nueva poker party! As for attire, a little black magic always works and allows you to remain an enigma. Wherever the spirits take you, together the group will enter an underground world of intrigue, magic, and of course plenty of fun.

Twenty-five lucky couples are invited to bring their best poker voodoo. After cocktails and a gourmet dinner, newbies can learn from a World Series of Poker veteran before play begins. Once the competition gets underway, all bets are ON! Put a spell on the field and go home the 2020 champion of the 12th annual Nueva poker tournament!

An Evening with MLK's Speech Writer Clarence Jones and Jonathan Greenberg
In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King made his infamous "I have a dream" speech, calling on us all to ensure our future was one in which all people were treated equally. Fifty-six years later, Clarence B. Institute director Dr. Jones served as Dr. King's lawyer, strategic adviser, and draft speechwriter from 1960 until Dr. King’s assassination on April 4, 1968. Mr. Greenberg, Nueva parent and professor, spent 30 years studying and teaching conflict resolution, public policy, and international law at Stanford Law School, Mr. Greenberg joins Dr. Jones at USF as the institute’s associate director and scholar in residence.

Please join Dr. Jones and Mr. Greenberg for a cocktail hour, in the home of first grade parents Louisa and Mark Gillett, for an informative, thought-provoking discussion regarding social justice in our community. Catering is generously provided by Clarence So and Nga Do.
